New BlackBerry Storm Touchscreen Phone – Update

by MikeM on November 16, 2008

In our earlier post, BlackBerry ‘Storm’, New Touchscreen Phone from RIM, we provided some of initial details on this exciting new device. Verizon has now announced the final information on the price and shipping date for the first touchscreen BlackBerry.

  • Price: $199 (actually $249 with a $50 rebate)
  • Availability Date: November 21, 2008

This should be a very attractive price point for a device with the wide range of capabilities of the Storm.  Loads of details, pictures, and video are available on the verizonwireless.com web site. It will be interesting to see how RIM’s new device stacks up against the Apple iPhone.

My boss bought one of these last week and HATES it! He said the touch screen is not very sensitive and he has to repeatedly press letters to get them to take.

Glad I heard this before I bought one!

I love my Storm. You can change the sensitive settings in the set up if you need to. I think it’s great.
